About the Author

Kevin O'Hara, Professor of Silviculture, University of California- Berkeley

Kevin O'Hara is Professor of Silviculture at the University of California - Berkeley where he teaches field and classroom courses in forestry. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington and taught for 8 years at the University of Montana before joining the University of California faculty. He is the author of over 120 scientific papers and served on the editorial boards or as associate editor of the European Journal of Forest Research, Forestry, and the Journal of Forestry. His research focuses on a variety of aspects of forest stand dynamics and their application to silviculture. However, the bulk of his research focuses on multiaged stand dynamics and silviculture. He has published over 40 papers on the topic of multiaged silviculture and has served as the leader of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) Uneven-aged Silviculture Research Group (IUFRO 1.05).

An ok book, but not worth $1000, no where near it.

I took this class as an elective, and I love music, and I knew the professor teaching the class, which by the way is a great teacher. Anyway, the book is ok, it has its flaws, but it has its strengths also. A lot of the info is questionable, and some is spot on. I had to get it for the class, so, now its for sale. But, hey, They are asking $999.00 plus shipping for this book? Are you freaking kidding me? $999 for the paperback, and $80-$90 for the hardback. What makes the paperback so special? If you have to have this book, buy the hardback for goodness sakes for $90. $1000 for this book is absurd. (Actually $90 is absurd) but oh well, that's the price of college books. A total rip off if you ask me, but nobody asked me, so I will shut up now. Just saying.

Indispensible book for both students and critics

Fantastic Literature is a real treasury of essays on the wide subject of the fantastic. Tzvetan Todorov's book The Fantastic is the first book dealing exclusively with the fantastic literature - before that there were only bits and pieces as the authors discussed the fantastic while discussing imagination, realistic novel or the purpose of literature. To collect all those essays when writing a thesis or a paper would be taxing to say the least. Sanders's collection comes very useful - especially as the texts were carefully chosen and edited. Collected essays when read as a whole provide an exhaustive overview of literary criticism in that field. They also demonstrate the connection of the sublime and the fantastic, of imagination and the role of literature in society - while incorporating diverse critical voices.

Amazing book!!

Dillon is Ashlyn's new boss and it appears in the beginning that they can't stand each other Dillon insists that Ashlyn accompany him to a conference in Las Vegas. Upon arrival, she realizes she has to share a room with him. Ashlyn was not happy at all. One thing led to another and the next thing you know, she wakes up married. Ashlyn panics, but Dillon refuses to annul the marriage.

Once home, they decide to give the relationship a go. Dillon wants everyone to know that Ashlyn is his wife. How will Ashlyn's family act once they discover she's married and didn't tell anyone. Will Dillon's ex try to win him back?

I loved this book!! The banter between the two main characters is hilarious. The chemistry between them is pretty hot as well and there are some pretty steamy scenes.
Aurora Rose is one of my favorite authors and I fell in love with the Until Series during the first book. I couldn't wait to read Dillon and Ashlyn's story. My curiosity about them was peaked in previous books. I always love getting glimpses of some of my favorite characters from previous books. This story is told from dual POV and can be read as a standalone. I recommend this book as well as the others in the Until Series as well.

Until the Word Rape

I'm not a fan of giving out bad reviews especially to someone who dedicates their life to producing books for their readers, but this one had me upset. The beginning and middle of the story was adorable in its own way. I expected a cute short read, however, based on the ending I was confused. Books that have plot twists containing a murder/mystery tend to have events and little clues leading up to the final scene. This story had a few scattered in-between, but the lead characters themselves were oblivious.
I felt as if the ending was rushed which is a shame because it had the potential to be better than what it was. Another problem I had was that the summary of this book had no warnings to those who are sensitive about rape. Even though there wasn't a scene where a woman was raped, the author made multiple inferences and the term rape at the end. If I knew this was within the books content I would not have read it.

Ashlyn & Dillon

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Ashlyn & Dillon work in the same dental office & when Dillon insists Ashlyn attend a dental conference in Vegas with him, he clearly has motives to seduce her...and marry her! Right away the story fell apart in that we don't understand what happened until much later. It would be very odd for a girl to be so blackout drunk that none of the details come back to her. Dillon is a major alpha - he basically locked her down with a ring so she couldn't worm out of their relationship. They didn't date - they flirted & were totally attracted to each other & he fell for her in a bad way, and found the opportunity to lock her down. He is super protective of her & helps her ease into married life & tell her family & friends. Ashlyn is in danger & then he definitely turns on his alpha male skills. Another odd occurrence - it seems that these two beautiful people were virgins & slept together the night after their wedding? Dillon is the sweetheart in this story, devastated when he doesn't feel like Ashlyn loves him when he is so deeply in love with her - obviously after going to great lengths to marry her, even though that was a little suspicious.

Me encant� este libro. Es una novela hist�rica que se desarrolla en Cuba en la d�cada de los cincuenta durante la ca�da de Batista y la toma de poder de Fidel Castro. La protagonista, Alejandra, vive su despertar sexual en medio de este mundo pol�tico conflictivo. Los dioses afro-cubanos (orichas) se entrometen en este mundo socio-pol�tico para abogar por sus propios intereses personales, al igual que lo hac�an los dioses griegos en la Atenas mitol�gica de la antig�edad. Me divert� cantidades leyendo este libro y aprend� mucho sobre esta fascinante �poca hist�rica.

I loved this book! It's a historical fiction novel which takes place in Cuba in the 50s during the fall of Batista and the rise of Fidel Castro. The protagonist, Alejandra, experiences her sexual awakening in the midst of this conflictive political world. The Afro-Cuban gods (Orishas) meddle in this socio-political world to push their own personal agendas, much like the Greek gods did in the ancient mythical Athens. I had a blast reading it and learned so much about this fascinating historical time.

Interesante y conmovedora, esta novela detalla el despertar sexual e intelectual de una nina en Cuba en los 50's trenzando su desarrollo fisico y sicologico, con la historia politica de la revolucion y el nacimiento del regimen socialista.

This Spanish-language novel tells the story of a girl coming of age in Santiago de Cuba, the cradle of the Revolution against Batista. The author is faithful to the historical characters that played key roles in the Revolution and to the major events of this era. But the women are the center of the narrative. It's about a girl growing up in uncertain times. There's enough action and the author pulls no punches when it comes to things like war and torture and portrays very vividly the feelings of the people of this city that took the brunt of Batista’s dictatorship. But not all is gloom and doom. The obvious love of the author for her native city coming through this novel and some funny episodes regarding the santer�a gods give emotional relief from the intensity of the action.
I thoroughly recommend it.

Nice Starter Book

This book is great it has lots for full color photos on 5 builds. One thing that I didnt like is the fact that it is more of a basic how to do a basic chop. Dont think that you will get this book and have a $5000.00 chopper in a week. The guys in the book are all pros and get hooked up alot easier than I could ever do. I cant go in the shop and bang out a tank for the cost of the sheet metal. But it gives you a general idea of where to start. IF you have never done a project like this and just want to know where to get started, its is worth the money.

American Chopper might be entertainment, but doesnt teach you shit

This book describes the technicalities of a chopper bike in laymen's terms such as angles, engines, etc. The difference between buying frames and making up your own frames, and what is good and bad as a rule of thumb. Book is great if you just want to know about choppers or actually thinking of building your own from parts or from scratch. I now understand what questions to ask about kit parts and handling/power considerations.
