Dinah McCall - Sharon Sala does it again!
By VCozart
This book is one to add to the keeper shelf. Dinah McCall brings us a fascinating story of Native American prophecy and paranormal romance for a tale that will leave the reader wondering what will happen next. Her characters and ideas are thought provoking as well as intriguing and the plot is imaginative. It is unlike anything I have read before. I found the book to be an exciting adventure from page one and could not put it down. It's going to be one of those books that stays with me for a very long time.

Storying telling at it's best. An amazing, descriptive story to read.
By Mustang Cherokee
Imagine, you are the reader, but you are so immersed in a storyline that your senses take over and you actually feel what each person is feeling in the story. That throughout the story, you feel what the lead character is feeling, this is such a depth perception story that I was so involved, I read through the night and called in sick. I could hear the drums, feel the hopelessness of the ones stranded and the fire burnt my skin, the smoke and heat were so intense, I had to drink 3 glasses of water, and the tears flowed freely. It all began with a Windwalker and the words mine.

Interesting In A Good Way
By Ann de Vries
Whether she is writing as Sharon Sala or Dinah McCall, I almost always like Sala's books; Windwalker is no exception. The speculative alternate Native American history, time travel, supernatural and paranormal elements combined to make an enjoyable romantic story. The plot centred on "What if Native American history could be changed and how could it be done?".
Characterization was well done. Secondary characters were well drawn and added to the development of the storyline. Events seen through their eyes and feelings contributed to drawing the reader into the story and giving it an element of realism. The heroine and hero were likeable and sympathetic. Although she was the central character, the heroine did not seem as fleshed out as some of Sala's heroines in other books. I felt she skimped a bit on the heroine's characterization, in favour of including more sex scenes with the heroine and hero/heroes.
There was one thing I disliked about the book, and that was the amount of sex. I have no preference as to whether or not there is graphic sex in a book. If there is no sex, fine and if there is sex, fine, as long as the story is good. What annoys me is when there are too many sex scenes in relation to the length of the book. I know this is a very subjective thing; what is too much for one person may not be enough for another. I personally find that more than two or three sex scenes slows down the story and it becomes boring. If the number of pages devoted to sex scenes is large, then the author has fewer pages to devote to plot and characterization. I do realize that authors are pressured to bow to the publishers' and readers' demands for more sex in their books, but more does not always mean better. If I am reading for the erotic experience, I will read erotica, where the plot and characterization are not as important. If I am reading to be entertained, I want a good story with good characterization, where the erotic element is not important.
I was tempted to give this book a three star rating because I found myself skimming over the sex scenes and thinking, "Alright, already; can we get on with the story?" However, I did really like everything else about the book, and I felt that in all other respects, it was a definite four star book.
If you like only clean romances, avoid this book. It is not erotica, but if you like romances with hot, traditional sex scenes, you will probably like this book. It is a good story and is a great way to spend a few enjoyable hours.
